This is causing intermittent errors when doing certain searches, especially very general searches across many databases.

For the moment, the workarounds are:
•	Use Firefox. Brookers does not support Chrome or Safari.
•	Clear your cache (select Firefox – History – Clear Recent History – Time range to clear: Everything – Clear Now)
•	Be selective with your databases, e.g. if you are searching NZ Law Partner Legislation and Cases, click it to open it up and tick only the sub-databases that you need.

Staff
The process is similar for adding the block to paper sites. Full instructions are in the latest Stream News. Note that this block is not intended to replace any Library blocks that have been specifically tailored for the paper.

Professor Glyn Harper delivered an ANZAC Day lecture at the Library on Monday, about the “Centenary History of New Zealand and the First World War” project.

Professor Harper spoke to university and Library staff on the joint project to produce a comprehensive picture of New Zealand’s involvement in the First World War, involving Massey University, the New Zealand Defence Force and the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association.

He gave the audience fascinating glimpses of little-known stories of the First World War, that the project hopes to bring to the general public.

Professor Harper has begun writing the first volume on the New Zealand Soldier at War 1914-1918, which is expected to be published in 2015, with another ten or so volumes to follow.

New Zealand & Pacific Librarian Noelene White and Kaihautū Māori Sheeanda Field organised the lecture and display (and ANZAC biscuits) to celebrate ANZAC Day.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

If you'd like to see just the ones that we do have, then tick one of the full text boxes in the left hand column:

If you need scholarly articles, tick that box too, and refine by date while you're about it. Now you should be able to get to the full text of all the results. No more chasing items we don't have!

A web version of the New Zealand Official Yearbooks from 1893-2008 is now available on the Statistics New Zealand website.

Since 1893, New Zealand’s Official Yearbooks have captured the stories of New Zealand in words and in numbers. The Yearbooks are an incredibly rich one-stop-shop for data and information from across government. Information is included on diverse topics from fisheries to friendly societies and prices to poetry.

Each yearbook is fully searchable and text and tables can be copied and pasted into other programmes, including Word and Excel.
2010 will be available shortly, with the same searchability as earlier years. Tables in the 2010 yearbook can pasted into Word, but not Excel.

A media release from The Minister of Statistics, Hon Maurice Williamson can found here. http://beehive.govt.nz/release/statistics-nz-unlocks-past.

The Digital Yearbooks can be found at www.stats.govt.nz/yearbooks.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
