The new Sport subject guide has just been launched. It brings together all the key resources, including articles, books, definitions, background information, organisations and more.

This is the latest in the Library's ongoing redevelopment of the Subject Guides.

CEISMIC is a digital archive from the University of Canterbury, designed to preserve the memories and experiences of people in the region following the earthquakes. Christchurch City Libraries have also set up a kete - to which anyone can upload stories and pictures of the Canterbury earthquakes.

The Nelson Mandela Archive has recently been launched - and is described as a "work in progress.

A web version of the New Zealand Official Yearbooks from 1893-2008 is now available on the Statistics New Zealand website.

Since 1893, New Zealand’s Official Yearbooks have captured the stories of New Zealand in words and in numbers. The Yearbooks are an incredibly rich one-stop-shop for data and information from across government. Information is included on diverse topics from fisheries to friendly societies and prices to poetry.

Each yearbook is fully searchable and text and tables can be copied and pasted into other programmes, including Word and Excel.
2010 will be available shortly, with the same searchability as earlier years. Tables in the 2010 yearbook can pasted into Word, but not Excel.
