Brookers NZ Legal Databases Errors

Brookers New Zealand Legal Databases are migrating to a new platform. This is causing intermittent errors when doing certain searches, especially very general searches across many databases.

For the moment, the workarounds are:
• Use Firefox. Brookers does not support Chrome or Safari.
• Clear your cache (select Firefox – History – Clear Recent History – Time range to clear: Everything – Clear Now)
• Be selective with your databases, e.g. if you are searching NZ Law Partner Legislation and Cases, click it to open it up and tick only the sub-databases that you need.

Library Login Not Working?

Is your Massey login (ID number and PIN) working for Stream and MyMassey, but not for Library resources such as databases, ejournals or Information Commons computers?

Check whether you have outstanding university fees. These can result in Library access being suspended.

Financial statements and fee payments by credit card are available on MyMassey. If you have queries about fees, please get in touch with Massey Contact on contact@massey.ac.nz or phone 0800 MASSEY (+64 6 350 5701).

Once you have paid outstanding fees, your login can take up to 72 hours to be fully reinstated. However, if you need Library access sooner, please contact us for an interim login.

Study Room Bookings

Study room bookings are no longer available online. You may reserve the rooms using the booking computers in the Library. You can also contact us by phone or email to book. Please make it clear which Library you want to make the booking in.

Noisy Roof Work at Wellington Library

Wellington Library will be having maintenance performed on the roof after hours throughout March 2012.

This is going to involve noisy drilling on the roof from about 5pm onwards, weather permitting. If you need a quiet place to study after 5pm during this time, you may need to consider making other arrangements.

Internet Explorer 9 & Library Databases

Some Library databases are not compatible with Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). If you have already installed IE9 and are having problems, you may need to use an alternative browser (such as Firefox or Chrome) or the IE9 compatibility mode (shown below).

Databases with IE browser problems include:

  • Scopus - use the compatibility mode in IE or another browser
  • MasseyLink - use the compatibility mode in IE or another browser
  • Web of Knowledge - the results page is blank in IE9. This affects Web of Science, Current Contents Connect, Biological Abstracts, MEDLINE, CAB Abstracts, and ISI Proceedings. Use the compatibility mode, an earlier IE version, or another browser such as Firefox or Chrome.
  • Taylor & Francis Journals - may not open in IE9 or IE8. Use Firefox or an earlier IE version.
  • ProQuest - does not allow direct export into EndNote in IE. Use Firefox.
