Noisy Roof Work at Wellington Library

by Massey University Library Email

Wellington Library will be having maintenance performed on the roof after hours throughout March 2012.

This is going to involve noisy drilling on the roof from about 5pm onwards, weather permitting. If you need a quiet place to study after 5pm during this time, you may need to consider making other arrangements.

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience.

Turitea Building Work

Building work at Turitea Library may cause some inconvenience over the next few weeks. Library staff are happy to help out in any way, and inaccessible areas will be well-signposted. The work includes:

  • Carpeting on Level 1, already underway.
  • Toilets upgrade at the Registry end of the Library, on all levels of the stairwell. This begins on Monday 21 November.
  • Painting the outside of the building, starting soon.

We apologise for the inconvenience. Please ask if you need help.

Carpeting at Turitea Library

by Massey University Library Email

Some areas of Level 1 at Turitea Library will be inaccessible due to re-carpeting over the next few weeks. Preparations for this will begin on Friday 11 November.

The first phase will begin outside the Photocopying Room, then move on to the new journals display area, and the Science Tower end of the building, and is expected to take up to three weeks. The second phase will be in the Registry end of Level 1.

The new journals display will be moved to the back of the new books display shelving, near the red couches. Any detours and relocated items will be well signposted. We're happy to retrieve any print journals you can't get to. Please ask Library staff if you need any help.

What's new in the libraries?

by Massey University Library Email

We've made some improvements around the libraries in response to your comments in the Student Experience Survey...

At Hokowhitu Library we have new chairs and computer desks, and rearranged the shelves to give you a bit more space. Comfy couches are on the way.

Turitea Library has more quiet study spaces on Level 1. Extra powerpoints for laptops are going in this week, and the ongoing replacement of the sad old chairs with new red ones is continuing. Next year we'll be clearly marking the quiet/individual and noisy/group areas so people have a better idea of expectations.

Wellington Library has improved wireless access this year and more powerpoints will go in after exams. We have 3 new Macs - one with an A3 scanner attached. Our new Parents Room has a computer, playpen and toys.

Unsurprisingly, people are pretty happy with Albany Library as it is. However, we are putting in more wireless access points for laptop and mobile use.

Sorry for the building noise at Turitea Library. The toilets are being refurbished, which we expect to be completed by the end of June.
