makariri makes some people matekai as in the sentence but
yes matekai can make some people grumpy, sleepy/tired or weak. :)
pukukino - be grumpy, bad-tempered, angry, volatile
puku in this case does not mean the stomach but is about the passions or affections one has - kino means a whole lot of things - ill will, evil, bad and so the two concepts put together give you the word for grumpy or bad-tempered....
